Wine down and getaway…

Gather your friends or significant other and head out to wine country. By wine country I don’t mean Napa or Sonoma. Northern California’s vineyards are beautiful. However, there are several vineyards in SoCal that have some amazing juice. The views are beautiful too.

Less than two hours from the hustle and bustle of L.A. you will find rows of scenic vineyards in a city called Temecula. Nearly 50 vineyards cover the rolling hills of this wine region. A few of my favorites are Carter Estate, Oak Mountain Winery, and South Coast Winery. Whether you decide to stay at the vineyards or just stroll through them, you won’t be disappointed.

Carter Estate Picture opening the french doors of your bungalow and stepping out into the vineyard. Take a stroll with your coffee in hand while in your complimentary luxurious robe. Sounds like heaven? Not quite but close enough. If you can manage to leave your hotel, the Carter Estate offers e-bike rentals. You can also enjoy a hot air balloon picnic and most importantly, they provide wine tasting tours. Not quite ready to venture out yet? I recommend starting off with their tasting room. Their award winning wines are a perfect way to prep your palate for a day of wine tasting.

For the best lodging rates travel mid week for their specials. Stay two days and get 20% off. Stay three and get 25% off. Now that sounds like something to cheers about.

Wine More You’ll Feel Better

Oak Mountain Winery brings both the ambiance and the savory wines. How would you like to have lunch with your wine flight surrounded by wine barrels?Offering cave tours along with their wine tastings, this winery is a must for your list of vineyards to visit.

For a discounted rate on the experience, purchase their tasting and cave tour on Groupon.

Callaway Vineyard and Winery is not only aesthetically pleasing, but satisfies all the senses. Your tastebuds will be on overload with their wine and flavorful meals. Their restaurant, Meritage offers a three course prime rib dinner for $55. Sunset is free. Prefer to have lunch? It will be hard to choose from the many options on their menu.

Wine Down on Wednesdays for their weekly trivia nights which are free. Tours and tastings are also an option.
