Na Pali Coast while sipping on MaiTai’s on the yacht’s deck.

In Kaua’i, all you need is Ohana.
Our family vacation began with a traditional lei and ended with a memorable luau.
There’s nothing like the feel of the sand in between your toes to get you in vacay mode. Kauai has an array of beaches. Known for it’s crystal clear waters, amazing sunsets and water sports. If you stick around long enough you can see the sea turtles swim up to shore. Sea lions laying lazily on the sand have the right idea. While you aren’t allowed to touch them, you can join them in sunbathing. We laid our towels out nearby and enjoyed watching them from a distance.
Just a four hour flight to paradise from the west coast. Our first day started with sipping Mai Tai’s at the pool bar and a walk on the beach.

Our first morning started at what would become our favorite coffee spot, Sunrise Coffee food truck. This cute coffee truck makes the absolute best Avo toast you will ever have! I paired it with a White Chocolate Toffee Latte. After the first time I was hooked and had to go back while multiple times. They also have mouthwatering Acai bowls, pastries and bagels.

Here are our Kauai favorites:
- Captain Andy’s Kaua’i Boat Tour: We chose to do their BBQ snorkle boat cruise off the Coast of Na Pali. The crew was lively and attentive. We enjoyed drinks while taking in the scenery off the back deck. Once we got to our snorkle spot we dove in to look for sea turtles. I did not get to see a sea turtle but my daughter did. There were many beautiful tropical fishes too. When we got back onboard, our chef was grilling up some burgers. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and another MaiTai. The views were breathtaking and we even saw dolphins too.
- Kaua’i Luau: You can’t go to Hawaii and not attend a luau. We decided our last night in Hawaii should be spent taking in this traditional experience. From the warm welcome to the exceptional performances, the luau was definitely one of our favorite activities on the island. I am usually not a fan of buffets. However, with the plethora of options offered, it was difficult finding something I didn’t like.
- Mingling with the locals: I always like to see whats happening around town whenever I visit a new place. We went to Kaua’i in June. Lucky for us it happened to be during their Pride Parade. Being a huge ally I was excited to be apart of the lively celebration with the locals. We took in the shows and even got henna tattoos. Shopping unique art pieces and fashion designs.

So Much To Do
Kaua’i is known for it’s outdoor activities. Only having a week on the Island, there was so much we did not get to do. If you have more time and an unlimited budget, you must take advantage of it all. Start with a helicopter tour over a volcano or hike to one of the islands beautiful waterfalls. Head to town to shop and support small businesses. Then soak in the sun at one of their beautiful beaches. Whatever you choose to do it is guaranteed to be an adventure of a lifetime.
